We are all in some state of disease. So how can we shift the tides so to speak and live a healthier life? Well, let's start with water. Over 60 % of the human adult body is made of water! So now let's ask why? First off, it protects our organs and tissues. It carries the oxygen we breathe in, as well as essential nutrients throughout the body to all our cells! It helps lubricate our joints and helps our liver and kidneys flush out waste. With that being said, we are all walking around in some state of dehydration. Haven't you ever noticed when brought to a hospital with symptoms, after initial testing they usually hook you to an IV ( A mixture of water, salts, and electrolytes). Most of society takes this essential nutrient for granted.
Coffee, Tea, Soda/Pop, Alcohol, and energy drinks are the 5 major over-consumed beverages in our daily diets. These drinks act as diuretics causing increased urination and sodium loss, affecting our blood potassium levels, causing headache, dehydration, muscle cramps, dizziness, joint disorders and stripping our bodies of key nutrients.
So how can we live a healthier lifestyle? Start with drinking 3-4 liters of water per day and work on eliminating the 5 major beverages I mentioned above. Our journey to health starts one step at a time, one day at a time....
